French Republicans Nominate Retailleau for 2027 Presidential Election
As stated by reports, the party announced on social media platform X that members had backed Retailleau with 73.8% of the vote, declaring him the party’s nominee for the upcoming presidential race.
Reports indicate that around 75,000 party members participated in the electronic ballot conducted over Saturday and Sunday to choose the candidate. The turnout was reported at approximately 60%.
According to reports, Retailleau, who has been leading the party, described the outcome as an important step in rebuilding and mobilizing the French right, noting that the party is now positioned to begin preparing for the national campaign.
He added that the result marks what he called a “decisive step” in strengthening the party’s political momentum ahead of the election.
