National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Communities across the country will come together to educate others on how to register to vote.

It is the largest single-day effort dedicated to voter registration.

Since 2012, partners have helped more than 6 million people register or update their registration on this annual, nonpartisan civic holiday.

“Registering to vote is the first step in participating in our democracy,” said Steve Simon, Minnesota Secretary of State and co‑chair of the National Voter Registration Day Steering Committee.
