Secretary of State Launches Statewide Information Campaign to Reach Voters with Election Facts before the 2026 General Election
Santa Fe – Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver today announced the launch of a new statewide advertising campaign as part of her Office’s commitment to ensuring voters have the information they need to participate in the 2026 general election.
“With everything being said about the election this year, I have been really concerned about voters getting bad information about the process that keeps them from casting a ballot,” said Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver. “We know that New Mexicans have good questions about our elections, and the truth is that New Mexico runs some of the most accessible, secure and accurate elections in the country. We want to cut through the noise and provide voters with more information about what makes our process so great as well as the facts they need to safely vote and trust that their vote counted.”
Launched on September 18, 2026 across various media channels in New Mexico, the “Good Questions” campaign was developed in collaboration with Esparza Advertising and will broadcast on social media, digital ads, and radio. The Secretary of State’s Office has also developed resources for the public, including flyers and a landing page on its website.
The purpose of the campaign is to provide trusted answers to some of voters most urgent questions about voter registration, voting by mail, election security, general election deadlines and more. A full list of these questions is available on the Secretary of State’s website at sos.nm.gov/goodquestions.
“We are incredibly proud and honored to partner with the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office on this important election cycle. We know voters have questions about how the election process works, how to vote, and when and where they can cast their ballots. This campaign is about providing clear, accessible answers to those critical questions and helping New Mexicans feel informed and confident as they participate in our elections. When voters have the information they need, voting becomes easier, more accessible, and more secure. It is a privilege for Esparza Digital & Advertising to use our expertise to help connect New Mexico voters with the information they need to make their voices heard.” says Del Esparza, CEO of Esparza Digital & Advertising.
This current campaign is also part of the Secretary of State’s commitment to combating election misinformation that has seen a dramatic rise since 2020. It builds on previous work, such as the Rumor vs. Reality website maintained by the Office, its 2024 “Seeing is no longer believing” media campaign focused on combating AI misinformation and the “Your Vote Counts, New Mexico!” media campaign highlighting the work of county election officials and educating voters about the integrity of New Mexico’s elections.
