NEWS RELEASE: Voter Information Pamphlet Available for Proposed Change in Uintah County Government
UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 21, 2026– Uintah County has released the Voter Information Pamphlet for Proposition #9, the proposed change in county government that will appear on the November 3, 2026, General Election ballot.
The proposed Optional Plan would replace Uintah County’s current three-member commission form of government with a five-member council and an appointed county manager.
“This is an important decision about how Uintah County government would be structured and how authority would be divided,” Clerk-Auditor Mike Wilkins said. “We encourage every voter to read the materials, ask questions, research the proposed plan and be prepared to vote.”
The pamphlet is intended to help voters understand the ballot proposition and make an informed decision. The Voter Information Pamphlet, complete Optional Plan and additional educational materials are available on the Uintah County website, www.uintah.gov
Voters will decide whether to adopt the proposed plan during the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Voters can register to vote, update or confirm their registration, track a mailed ballot and find voting information at vote.utah.gov.
